Assistant Professor, Tenure Track, Psychology and Neuroscience
BAYLOR UNIVERSITY'S DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY AND NEUROSCIENCE seeks to fill two tenure-track faculty positions within the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at the Assistant Professor rank, effective fall 2025. We are searching for a collaborative faculty member with research experience in clinical, behavioral, cellular, or molecular neuroscience. Individuals with experience using rodents, alternative animal models, or humans are encouraged to apply.
Clinical Assistant Professor, Non Tenure-Track, Department of Psychology and Neuroscience
The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Baylor University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track position as a Clinical Assistant Professor beginning August 2025. This position involves a 10-month contract, with potential for summer teaching and supervision. The appointment is a renewable full-time, benefits-eligible position with a 6-year promotion path to Associate Clinical Professor for successful candidates and a promotion path to Clinical Professor for highly successful candidates (see Policy on Clinical Faculty at Baylor University (BU-PP 719))
Responsibilities include direct clinical supervision at the Baylor Psychology Clinic (the training clinic for the Department’s APA-accredited Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology), adhering to ethical guidelines and legal procedures, facilitating student involvement in clinical practice, teaching and mentoring students at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, and assisting the Director of the Clinical Psychology Program, Clinic Director, Associate Clinic Director, and Clinic Office Manager in various capacities. Opportunities exist for clinical research as well, but research is neither expected nor required.
Lecturer, Non-Tenure Track, Department of Psychology and Neuroscience
The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience in the College of Arts & Sciences at Baylor University invites applications for a Full-Time Lecturer faculty position beginning in August 2025. This appointment is a renewable full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure-track, teaching-focused position with a 6-year promotion path to Senior Lecturer for successful candidates and a 12-year promotion path to Teaching Professor for highly successful candidates (see Policy on Full-Time Lecturers, Senior Lecturers, and Teaching Professors at Baylor University).
We seek applicants with a strong interest and experience in teaching psychology courses at the undergraduate level. We seek a creative, engaging, and collaborative colleague who will contribute positively to the department’s culture of innovative teaching, student-centered mentoring, and dedicated service to our undergraduate programs. Candidates should be able to teach multiple courses across the undergraduate Psychology curriculum.
The department offers undergraduate degrees in psychology and neuroscience, serves about 1,000 undergraduate majors, and has two doctoral programs. Baylor University and the department prioritize cultivating faculty success at all levels and supporting professional excellence through faculty development programs offered by the Academy for Teaching and Learning.
The department has a long history of teaching excellence, with numerous faculty members recognized at the University, national, and international levels for outstanding teaching and mentoring.
