Biography

Dr. Hiraoka received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Northern Illinois University and completed her clinical internship with the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System in Waco. From 2014-2020, Dr. Hiraoka served as a staff psychologist in the Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Clinical Team at the Olin E. Teague Veterans’ Medical Center in Temple. In that role, she provided evidence-based psychotherapies for combat-related PTSD. In 2015, Dr. Hiraoka became a member of the internship training committee and began serving as a clinical supervisor for predoctoral psychology interns. Starting in 2019, she served as the Assistant Training Director of the predoctoral psychology internship training committee. Dr. Hiraoka joined the Baylor faculty in 2020.

Clinical and Research Interests

Dr. Hiraoka was clinically trained as a generalist, with clinical experiences across the lifespan, and later received specialization in treating PTSD. Her research interests focus on topics related to anxiety disorders and trauma.
