RESEARCH
Dr. Brockmole's research focuses on understanding how human observers acquire information about objects and scenes, how that information is retained in memory, and how stored knowledge about the visual world in turn guides behavior. He uses a variety of tasks and dependent measures to investigate these aspects of cognition, but a major methodology involves the recording and analysis of eye movements which reveal how visual information is processed in real time. His work has been funded by the National Science Foundation, Templeton Religion Trust, European Research Council, the United Kingdom’s Economic and Social Research Council, and others.
